cor-ten steel sculpture - sculptures in the sculpture park, Open Air Museum POAM
polar construction, knee

even though my father worked with wood all his life, it was Finland that really opened my eyes to this material - it was the "kelo",*  which opened my eyes to the possibilities for my way of constructing sculptures from the most elementary shapes - other kelo sculptures can be found on his official sculpture site

*Kelo-wood is a standing dead tree, usually pine. The Kelo-pines in the Arctic climate zone have a silver-gray patina on the surface, and the heartwood is red. The darker the heartwood, the further north the pine has grown.
